ARMENIAN BIBLE STUDY
We love Jesus Christ and want to share the message about him to Armenians in Sydney. In Armenian Bible Study we aim to grow in our knowledge of God and his will so that we might live for him. Please contact us if you would like specific information about attending this group.
We love being Armenian. But we love Jesus more.
Most Armenians call themselves Christians, and that is a great legacy of our ancestors who have held tightly to this religious identity. But waving the Armenian flag doesn’t automatically make someone a Christian, as great a combo that can be! - God makes it clear in the Bible that no one is born a Christian and no one is saved by birth or by any works that they can do themselves.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
This also means that no one is saved by christening or membership into the church. People are only saved by God’s unmerited gift given through the death of his Son Jesus Christ. Only by faith in Jesus Christ can someone be truly Christian.
Many Armenians live their whole lives being told that their eternal destiny is safe and that they are going to heaven, yet they don’t have true assurance because they have no faith in Jesus Christ. This is the gospel in which many Armenians (and people from all nations), since the year 301, have believed, because it is a sure salvation - how great would it be for you to know that you are definitely going to heaven! - this is possible, and it is why we love to teach the gospel to Armenians that many might be saved by God’s grace.
If you’re Armenian and want to take your faith seriously, come and join others in learning from God’s word to see what it looks like to live as a true Christian.
